According to Jamaica’s Ministry of Education, approximately 6.4% of the nation’s student population consists of students with disabilities. As the number of students with certain disabilities, including autism, continues to grow, the need for specialized support services, and individualized learning opportunities becomes increasingly important.

The provision of diagnostic and sustained therapeutic services is critical in ensuring that children with special needs receive timely and accurate identification of developmental challenges and access to appropriate interventions. Specialized support such as therapy, not only enhances educational attainment but also promotes long term independence, confidence, and inclusion within society. In this regard, diagnostic and therapeutic services are not ancillary supports but rather fundamental components of an inclusive education system that seeks to maximize the potential of every learner.

The Linburg Intervention Centre (LIC) is invested in providing an environment where children with Special Education Needs (especially those with autism) will receive appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic services across all aspects of their development.
